Gas bill or fuel bill Leaving you Cold ? We can help.
If your Boiler is over 15 Years old, chances are replacing it will reduce your heating costs by at least 30%. It can also help Improve your comfort, health and safety. To get the perfect combination of balanced comfort and energy savings, call Thermocool to schedule a time for one of our comfort advisors to conduct a comfort analysis, and to design the correct boiler system which will work best for your home or business.
Boiler systems are typically fired by fossil fuels such as natural gas, fuel oil and propane. Designed to work with radiant heating systems, boilers circulate warm water or steam through a network of pipes to deliver reliable and efficient comfort.
Each and every structure should have a survey of its elevation, square footage, square foot of windows and doors and exposure to determine the correct load size or amount of heating capacity that is required. This survey is also known as the Manual J Load calculation.
AFUE means “Annual Fuel Usage Estimate” or efficiency.
80% AFUE means that 80% of the fuel burned by an appliance is providing heat to the conditioned space. The remaining 20% is venting through the chimney and heating the outside.
By installing a Boiler with a rating of 95% AFUE now 95% of your heating dollars are actually heating your conditioned space, and only 5% is lost to the outside.
83% AFUE Boilers have different features and options which can be installed in multiple locations depending on construction of the structure. These furnaces require a chimney or metal flue for venting. 83% to 87% boiler is a fan-assisted appliance which utilizes a small fan, or inducer motor to pull combustion air (air from inside the conditioned space) into the combustion chamber and force exhaust gas out into the flue.
90% AFUE or better have different features and options which can also be installed in multiple locations but the venting and combustion process are different. Theses boilers are direct-vent appliances which means that both the exhaust and intake air (combustion air) are piped directly to the outside. No combustion air is utilized from the conditioned space which can help lower the amount of unwanted infiltration (drafts) in a building. The combustion chambers are sealed for better control of the combustion process. 90% boilers are also known as condensing boilers. A condensing boiler recovers waste heat from the exhaust gases, which would normally vent to the outside, but now are captured in a secondary heat exchanger and pulls heat from water vapor being produced during the combustion process.
